Northwest Harris County MUD No. 5 continues to monitor neighboring facilities, including those owned and maintained by Harris County Flood Control District (HCFCD). The District appreciates the efforts by HCFCD in addressing issues that are important to our community and ensuring flood control remains a priority.

As mentioned in the previous update, the pedestrian trail and bridge near Fairwood Recreation Center will be temporarily closed to all foot traffic. This closure is necessary for HCFCD to safely carry out a major drainage channel rehabilitation project in the area. The project is expected to be completed by April 2026.
